Spring dress McCall's#7778

Hi Everyone, I know most of you are on sewlacation so we're going to see Some beautiful makes. As for I'm one of those "essential worker"So I'm still in the danger zone any way I manage to make one of my favorite dress so far using @McCall's#7778.

This pattern has many options dresses, romper and jumper have close-fitting, Interfaced bodice, Invisible zipper and gathered skirt or pants with length variations.I cut a size 14 and I did view A.I add about 4 inches to the length. The fabric I had in my stash for a while This is my second dress using this yummy cotton from my local fabric store in Queens, NY. This was an easy sew and I will be making this pattern again.

camouflage Pelpum Top

Hi everyone,I hope y'all having a great March , the month are moving  by so fast.Any way I want to talk to you about my camouflage  peplum Top this is my second time using this pattern .   The pattern is Butterick B6096 semi-fitted,pullover top with princess seams, sleeve variations and narrow hem.I made a size 14 and did view D.The instructions was easy to follow.I was attracted to the shaped hemlines and how the long the peplum was  you can easily make it into a skater skirt.

The fabric I use is a double knit I got a my local fabric store.The only dislikes about this pattern is the neck finishing but you can add bias tape  cut from the same fabric, I just serge my neckline and fold over..I took in  the sleeves about an inch because it  felt a little big.

I would sew it again in the summer without the sleeves.I definitely recommend it to others.

Red and white outfit

Happy President's Day, I hope everyone is having a great sewing day.Today I'm doing a quick post on My little red and white outfit that I made for Valentine's Day wasn't planning on going out I just made something just because.Lol.The pattern I use for the top is Simplicity#8982.I did view B In a size 14, pull over top with a slight ballon sleeve this was an easy sew no wonder why this pattern is so popular.I use a liverpool knit That I got from my local fabric store Jackson Height Fabric in Queens NY.

For the skirt I use McCall's#7725, its a semi fitted skirt with waistband and ruffles .I did view B .The fabric I use is a red and white polka  liverpool knit also from my local fabric store.

Pink Vogue 9344

Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a wonderful week and ready for the weekend. I have so much project to catch up on. I'm off the weekend yeah me! So lets see how much I will get finished.

Lets talk about the dress.



Pattern used for this dress: Vogue 9344. I made View  B
Pattern Description: Fitted dress with center back zipper, back shoulder and waist darts, and bodice and sleeves variations. Neckline finished with bias tape.               
Pattern level: Very easy.
What size did I cut: I cut a size 14.
Were the instructions easy to follow? If you have sewing experience with invisible zipper then  its a breeze the illustrations are well written.

  

What did you like or dislike about this pattern? I really like how it sew up really fast. I love the sleeves which are by far the main reason why I bought this pattern. Sleeves are still in for 2020😊.
Where did you purchase your fabric? I bought my fabric at my local fabric store in Queens NY.
Fabric used: I used some soft crepe.
Would you sew it again? Yes I would in a print or light weight jean.
Would you recommend it to others? Yes This is an easy dress to sew, I really like the style it doesn't show too much of my little stomach.

I hope you're having a great week. It's been a while since my last blog. I do sew but never photographed the finished product. This year I'm going to  try and  blog more. I know January is almost over but still wanted to get a post in prior.

Pattern Review: Loose fitting top has gathered sleeve cap with self binding and elastic sleeves.

Pattern Sewing Level: Easy. Great for beginners with only 4 pieces.

Size: I made a size 14 which seems a bit too big. Next time it will be a 12.

Instructions:  Easy to follow. Illustrations were great. No issues.

Fabric: Charmeuse. Purchased at Jackson Heights Fabrics in Queens NY on sale for $1.99/yd.

Would you sew it again? Most definitely. I would use a solid color next time though.

Would you recommend it to others? Yes. Definitely yes.

Purple velvet

Happy monday every, I hope everyone had a great weekend.I haven't post in a while but I have a few dress that I made for the holidays starting with this deep purple velvet dress .Im just in love with the  color and fabric.The fabric is from my local fabric store for $3:99 @ yard.The pattern that I use was New look 6525. I cut a size 12 which fits perfect

.The pattern is super easy  just front , back, sleeves and neck,  quick sew and  great for beginners.I will be definitely making it again..Happy sewing❤😀

Flowery dress

How ur all doing? It's been a while I haven't post anything..so here is another quick and easy dress it's Mccalls 6886 my favourite as you know by this.I use the sleeves from simplicity 8292.The fabric is from Joann's I got 2yrd for $22. I pair  it with some grey Restricted shoes.Happy sewing😀

vogue 9253

Happy Monday  everyone, I hope all is well with you and I hope you had a wonderful  weekend.I had a great weekend  spend time fabric shopping.On today's post I want to share with you one of my all time favorite   summer dress vogue  9253.It's a semi-fitted dress with back zipper  opening, attach self tie and length variations.The fabric I found   at Joann for $5.99 @yard it super soft and It l
has  a little  stretch  to it. I pick it just for this pattern. I
 did view A and I cut a size large.

This was a easy  sew.The only changes I made was sewing up the front panel half way up instead  of having it all the way  down..  seems more particular  for me.I will be definitely  sewing  a few of these for the summer, maybe  the longer version   in a solid  color next.I really  recommend  this pattern.

Mccalls 5400

I'ts memorial Day..Today is the day that's set aside to remember with gratitude  and pride all those  who served and died for our country and our freedom.

On today's post I want to share with you my d.iy swimwear and cover up.At first was afraid of posting pictures of me in swimwear but I said what the hell..if i go the beach people see me just the same.. So we went to the beach to watch the Air show

.My first swimwear  Mccalls 5400 it's a lined, halter tops have separate pattern piece different cup sizes. Below waist bottom and high cut legs.so I cut a size 16, which was way too big I did view E and H.I added four inches to the top and drop the legs one inch  down so it wasnt too high..  The cover up was super easy . I cut a size 16 also but i didnt have the sew in interfacing so i added a piece of lace to it.I definitely learn a few lessons  along the way use the required  swimwear fabric,the fabrics I use was some leftover 2 way stretch fabric that roll alotIt was a easy sew..I will be definitely making these again.

Black and white..Vogue9238

Happy Wednesday everyone, I hope your having a wonderful week so far?As for me I'm beaming with joy the summer is almost here..yea!!so I can get to wear a lot of my d.i.y's. I should have had this post up from monday but could find anyone to take my pictures or when I do it's raining. Anyways today post is vogue 9238  I did View B.. It's a close fittings dress have front and back shoulder flounce and cold details.

 I cut a size 12 it fit a bit big I could have gone with a size 10.The fabric I got a while back at @fabricdotcom it's a Liverpool knit very nice to sew with. The only problems  I had with this pattern is i got a U..instead of a V. I think i missed a step and my flounce was a bit short so I added a piece of fabric to it, I think its because the pattern called for 2way stretch and my fabric was one way.Lol.I am definitely planning on sewing this pattern again in a solid color.Thanks for stopping by and Happy sewing!😀👉❤

Simplicity 8332

Happy Friday everyone, I hope your week is 

 going great. It's a hot day here in New York 80 degrees so I opt for my yellow gingham  off the shoulder dress I made a month ago .I figure off the shoulder is still part of the trend.I hope it will keep me cool. I made the dress using simplicity 8332  as my base..view C.The pattern has five different view which are easy to sew that can be sew in about2_3 hours.

.I slash and spread the sleeves for a bell sleeves and also add ruffles to the dress.This is the year for gingham I didn't know it would come back in style.I use to wear red gingham  to school for my uniform when I was in basic school (kindergarten)  growing up in Jamaica.The fabric I got at my local fabric store for $1:99 I got two yards.Happy sewing😀
